Randago’s World Music Day 2026

What a day it was! This past Sunday, Randago came alive with the sound of music as we celebrated World Music Day in true style. From the very first note to the final curtain call, the energy was electric—and our brand-new BOK Performing Arts Centre (BOKPAC) proved to be the perfect home for it all.

We welcomed musicians from near and far—local heroes, regional trailblazers, and international artists—all sharing their craft and connecting with our community through the pure, unadulterated love of melody. Whether it was soulful acoustic sets, high-energy Afrobeat, or experimental fusion, there was something for every ear and every heart.

World Music Day (Fête de la Musique) began in France in 1982, and over the decades, it has grown into a worldwide celebration spanning over 120 countries. This Sunday, that incredible global energy touched down right here in Siaya—and since it also happened to be Father's Day, it turned into the ultimate family outing!

Our newly launched BOKPAC lived up to its motto— Expose, Educate, and Inspire—in every way. The stage wasn't just a platform for entertainment; it was a bridge between cultures, a classroom without walls, and a source of inspiration for young and old alike. The diversity of talent on display reminded us all that music truly is a universal language.

And let's not forget the food! Our newly opened African Pearl Cafe stole more than a few hearts (and stomachs) by treating all children under 15 to the juiciest, most delicious hot dogs this side of the River Nile. The smiles on those little faces said it all—great music and great food are a match made in heaven.

Until next time, keep the music playing!
