BOK is Kenya’s first and only opera-focused organization, dedicated to transforming lives through music while celebrating our diverse cultural heritage. Our mission is clear: to raise awareness of opera’s ability to inspire, educate, and empower through uniquely African stories and perspectives, thereby transforming lives and enriching communities.

We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new creative space, a true reflection of our vision for music, creativity, and community!

Core Purpose of the Space

Nestled in Lavington Mall, at the heart of Nairobi, this space is more than just a location—it’s a home for artists, a stage for storytellers, and a vibrant hub where the community can come together to celebrate music and culture. It will build onto BOK’s mission of exposing, educating, and inspiring individuals of all ages and backgrounds by making the discipline of opera accessible to everyone. This new space is a vital part of that mission, providing an environment where creativity can flourish and talent can be nurtured.

Significance of the Space

Music has the incredible power to bring people together, heal wounds, and inspire change. By creating this space, Baraka Opera Kenya aims to foster a love for music in our community, allowing individuals to learn, rehearse, and perform in a supportive environment. This venue will not only host opera but will also welcome various classical music events, creating a vibrant cultural hub for Nairobi.
