Through the multidisciplinary genre of Opera, BOK aims to promote the best of African artistic voices; telling our stories, dancing to our rhythms, playing out our aspirations, and rewriting our histories, with the fresh paint of hope for the future.

The Music Literacy & Musicianship Programme is a 10-week intensive course led by BOK and Winnie the Music Educator, designed for school leavers, adult musicians, educators, and performers. This project-based programme bridges the gap between theory and practice, teaching participants to confidently read music, apply theoretical concepts in performance and teaching, and develop essential keyboard and musicianship skills. Fully aligned with ABRSM standards, the course prepares committed students to successfully sit for the Grade 5 Music Theory Examination while gaining practical tools to enhance their musical craft.

Tête à Tête is delighted to be working with Baraka Opera Kenya and Across Arts to bring The Rain Show to schools across Cornwall and Tyneside.

A team of four fantastic Kenyan artists will combine workshops and interactive performances to bring folklore and history to life. Telling stories about rain and our climate with children across the UK, we hope it will lead to connections between communities in Kenya and the UK that will last for generations.
