Nyanga: Runaway Grandmother is a new Kenyan Opera! It's a fully-staged theatrical work, filled with soaring, operatic melodies. In it Music, Drama and Dance all fuse together to create a joyous, life-affirming message.

Nyanga: Runaway Grandmother will be performed by more than 90 singers, dancers and instrumentalists and it's based on a true story from the start of the twentieth century: Nyanga, a young herds-girl from a small Kenyan village, makes a momentous and life-changing decision that affects everyone dear to her.
