BOK Auditions: A Celebration of Opera & Christmas 2025
Baraka Opera Kenya is holding auditions for SINGERS to take part in A CELEBRATION OF OPERA in OCTOBER and A CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS in DECEMBER.
In 2022, Baraka Opera Trust held three successful Concerts entitled A Celebration of Opera featuring 20 local singers with 2 overseas professional singers, all performing Operatic Solos & Ensembles and accompanied by an Orchestra.
In A Celebration of Opera (2025) Baraka Opera Kenya is looking to repeat the previous Concert, but with a NEW selection of Solos and Ensembles and featuring, in the 2nd half, a semi-staged performance of Act IV from Bizet’s Carmen!
It is hoped that the same singers will then perform in A Celebration of Christmas - a selection of varied Seasonal Music, and again featuring the singers in solos and ensembles.

Performance Dates: A Celebration of Opera: October 25th & 26th, 2025
A Celebration of Christmas: December 13th & 14th, 2025
Venue: BOK Creative Hub
Rehearsals: Mostly at WEEKENDS from September 13th to October 24th and from
November 8th to December 12th.
Audition Information
The AUDITIONS will be held at Lavington Mall, 4th Floor, Nairobi on:
Friday, August 7th 12 PM to 4 PM
Saturday, August 8th 12 PM to 4 PM

We are looking to cast a total of 16 singers (4 Sopranos, 4 Altos, 4 Tenors, 4 Basses)
At the auditions, you will be required to sing a classical song (preferably opera or oratorio) and a piece in any other style (e.g., folk song, musical theatre, jazz, traditional music, etc.). Each audition will last a maximum of 8 minutes. Both pieces may be performed in any language.
