Music and Drama Educators’ Workshop

Baraka Opera Kenya – Randago invites all music and drama educators to an enriching professional development workshop on Saturday, 26th July 2025 at the Randago Musical Orchard in Siaya. The main theme for the workshop is Main Theme is The use of Music and Drama as tools for elevating education. The sub themes are: How to effectively use music and Drama as a tools in Education and How to successfully compete in Music and Drama Festivals.

This full-day event from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM will explore innovative strategies for using performing arts as powerful educational tools while equipping teachers with practical techniques to excel in music and drama festivals. With a registration fee of Ksh. 1,000 covering meals, materials and certification, the workshop features distinguished speakers including Chief Guest, Mr. Levi Wataka, Chairperson, Nairobi Music Society and MC Vincent Kowino (Siaya Comprehensive School Head Teacher).

Designed for choir instructors, music/drama teachers and school administrators, the program combines theoretical insights with practical demonstrations to enhance classroom engagement and competition preparedness. Participants will gain valuable networking opportunities while learning how to harness the transformative power of arts education.

Levi Wataka is a community development advocate since 2003, has shaped lives through music and sports with organizations like Molo Rugby Club, Kamili Organization and more. A seasoned contributor to Kenya’s music scene including The Kenya Conservatoire of Music, Kenya National Youth Orchestra, The Nairobi Orchestra, Nairobi Music Society and Art of Music Foundation. His expertise spans professional rehearsals, concert planning, and orchestral recordings—guiding musicians and non-musicians alike with unparalleled insight.
